    Wealth is scraped live from three reputable sources every single hour (24 times per day): the Forbes Profile page, the Forbes Real-Time List, and the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Forbes deliberately publishes two different figures - the profile page shows the previous trading-day close, while the real-time list reflects intraday market moves - so we treat them as independent inputs rather than duplicates. The dashboard polls the server on the same every-hour cadence so numbers stay current. We take the straight median of the three responding values, so the displayed figure lands exactly on one of the pooled numbers when the three agree, or on the middle value otherwise. On top of that a DYNAMIC SANITY BAND drops any single source that diverges more than 15% from the median of its peers, catching mid-update stale caches automatically. You can include or exclude any provider from the source selector and every number on the page recomputes instantly. Asset breakdown weights come from publicly disclosed ownership stakes (SpaceX ~38% post-IPO, Tesla ~11% including the 2018 award, plus Boring Co. and Neuralink) and are rebalanced to the live total. Between scrapes, the ticker applies a smooth simulated drift around the last confirmed value.
